Woman in black review

Thriller reviews

Woman in black-

Woman in black’s main character Arthur- Daniel Radcliffe is a lawyer and told to travel to a village to have a look at some documentation. He is told to return to London but chooses to ignore it. He finds out the Eel Marsh House is haunted by a woman dressed in black and learns the woman lost her son drowned in the marsh and takes revenge by taking the children of the scared locals. Arthur tries to put a stop to this.

There is a huge element of suspense throughout this film as the audience are wondering when and where the woman in black will show up again and what child will be taken next. The film is set in the olden times with weary and dull settings throughout. There is dramatic music to raise suspension on the scary parts when she does show up and little hints throughout to show she is there. Woman in black is a good thriller as there is thrill throughout the film and is a fast pace film with something exciting happening in each scene. It also makes a good thriller as it is a race against time when he discovers what the woman in blacks true intent is which creates a great deal of suspense of if Arthur will make it in time. The film is full of surprises and twists and makes the audience think, it uses the lighting to create shadowing throughout and even starts with an action scene to automatically bring that element of thrill to the film
